Back of Beyond Ranch
Duchesne, Utah
Located 20 miles west of Duchesne, Utah, and up 3 miles
of dirt roads, Back of Beyond Ranch is a ranch in name only. My two brothers
and I bought 77 acres of sagebrush and pinion pine for our escape from the
city we live in, and it currently has no water, no electricity and no permanent
buildings. We spend our days there outside preparing for our future cabin,
which currently involves smoothing out the 1/2 mile road from our property
line to the future building site. The dry, warm summers give us relatively
insect free relaxation, winters give us up to 3 feet of snow that keeps
the vegetation and animal life alive.
